Empowering for Reconciliation Advanced National Workshop
October 2001
PSPP offered its Empowering for Reconciliation advanced workshop October 16-18, 2001 on the UKDW campus in Yogyakarta. Twenty-six participants from throughout Indonesia attended the event. Participants represented UNICEF, World Vision International, Universitas Cenderawasih, P3W Papua, Sinode GKMI, and Mennonite Central Committee. Work groups devised plans for addressing particular situations as part of the workshop. The workshop was in Indonesian. PSPP facilitators for the event were:
- Pdt. Jozef M.N. Hehanussa, M.Th., UKDW Faculty of Theology, Program Director and Secretary of PSPP.
- Rev. Duane Ruth-Heffelbower, M.Div, J.D. Professor of Conflict Management and Peacemaking, Fresno Pacific University, on leave to PSPP under Mennonite Central Committee.
- Kuriake Kharismawan, S.Psi., Director, UKDW Counseling Center (PPP)
- Krisni Nur Patrianti, M.Hum., UKDW MKDU Faculty
- Endah Setyowati, Dra., UKDW MKDU Faculty

 There were lots of cameras and many different group poses. |
 Most of the workshop activities are done in work groups. UNICEF Ambon broke into two different focus groups. One focused on internally displaced people, the other on peace education. |

 Each group had to make up a song or cheer to represent their identity group. |
 World Vision's group stayed together to focus on internally displaced persons in Kalimantan. |
 The Papua group focused on the situation in Wasior where violence between government forces and guerrillas has caused many difficulties. |
 Using the peacebuilding framework developed by John Paul Lederach the groups developed emergency response and long-term intervention plans. |
